Influencers platform

Influencer platform

My roles: Product Manager + Product Designer

A platform connecting brands, agencies and KOLs. This case study is about the KOL mobile app: getting influencers signed up and active.

Context

KOL adoption was low

Sign-up was long and, worse, a KOL whose profile didn't match a live campaign saw nothing after registering. A dead end that drove churn.

In their words

"The form is too long."

"If my info doesn't match, I see no campaigns."

"It's complicated."

Discovery

How I gathered feedback

Two channels ran in parallel through every trial campaign: WhatsApp group chats as mini focus groups with the campaign managers, and deep-dive sessions with the BOD around each campaign's progress report.

The core problem

Sign-up asked for ID and tax details upfront: 2m30s at best, 5 to 7 minutes when KOLs had to dig for documents. And one profile mismatch silently hid every campaign, with no signal as to why.

The hidden blocker

KOL data was view-only for admins. When something was wrong, no one on the team could fix it, so campaigns stayed hidden and KOLs quietly dropped off.

Ideation

The bet

Stop making every KOL start from zero. Recognise the ones the team has worked with, auto-fill what we already know, and let admins own that data.

Challenges

  • Proposing the best onboarding flow for each persona
  • Data mapping: deciding which fields are primary vs optional
  • The edge cases when imported data has errors
Visual

Final UI

A shorter KOL sign-up where scanning your ID auto-fills personal details, plus an admin console to bulk-upload and edit KOLs.

Why this way

Get KOLs to value first and collect the rest later, instead of an all-or-nothing form. One ID capture replaces typing name, ID type and number. And put the data that decides what a KOL sees under admin control.

Governance

Edits run through role-based access control (RBAC), so only the right roles touch sensitive KOL data.

What I learned

Reduce upfront friction: let people in, and let them finish later.
